The University of Cape Town is South Africa’s oldest university, and one of Africa’s leading teaching and research institutions, nestled on the slopes of Table Mountain in the beautiful Cape Peninsula. The city offers a unique introduction to Africa, a changing landscape of multicultural contrasts and communities. The city has a well-developed infrastructure, with a modern health care system.     • Preferred application deadlines are: October 1st for Spring semester and April 1st for Fall semester. Call for availability after these dates.
    • At the time of application a student should normally have attained a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and hold a Junior or Senior class standing.
    • interstudy students can combine courses offered in different departments and faculties as scheduling allows.
    • Students should select the majority of their courses at the 200 level. An additional 100 or 300 level course may be taken also.
    • Standard full-time credit load: 14-16 U.S. semester-hour credits. The total number of courses will vary depending on the credit weighting of each course.
    • Students are pre-registered for courses prior to arrival; final registration takes place on-site.
