      Coursework at University College Cork (UCC) is offered by the four colleges: the College of Arts, Celtic Studies & Social Sciences; the College of Business & Law; the College of Science, Engineering & Food Science; and the College of Medicine & Health. As a visiting student, you may register for courses across the entire undergraduate curriculum with the exception of medicine and health sciences. Mathematics is only available to full-year and spring students. An Early Start Fall option designed for international students offers for-credit classes in Irish Archaeology, Folklore, History, Literature, Music, and European Marketing and Management.


    • Preferred application deadlines are: October 15th for Spring semester and April 15th for Fall semester. Call for availability after these dates.
    • At the time of application a student should normally have attained a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.  Students should hold Sophomore, Junior or Senior class standing at the time of study.
    • Course pre-approval is not available in advance of arrival; final registration takes place on arrival.
    • Students can take courses across multiple departments.
    • Medical & Health Science courses are not available to study abroad students.
    • Mathematics courses are only available to Full-Year and Spring semester students.
    • Students cannot take courses at or above the 5000-level.
    • Standard full-time credit load: 14-16 U.S. semester-hour credits. The total number of courses will vary depending on the credit weighting of each course.

    • The Boole library contains over 600,000 books, over 3,000 periodical titles and provides 1,850 reader places.
    • Students live in University apartments with other international students.  Accomodations are single room and self-catered.
