Stellenbosch is situated in the heart of South Africa’s Cape Winelands region and is located only 20 minutes to the nearest beach and one hour to Cape Town by rail. If you’re a nature lover, you’ll enjoy the nearby hiking trails or even a walk in the Botanical Gardens in the town. Interstudy's summer program at Stellenbosch is the best way to be introduced to the Western Cape region of South Africa with included excursions to Cape Town, Swellendam, and the Garden Route.
Founded in 1866, Stellenbosch University is recognized as one of the
top universities in South Africa. The summer program consists of
lectures, group discussions, and field trips taught by Stellenbosch
faculty and other South African experts. Lectures cover a variety of
topics, including Community Engagement, History, Politics, Biodiversity,
Art, Film, Literature, Sociology, Public Health, and Philosophy.
You
may choose between three different options: the Multidisciplinary Option is a four-week
program where you take three courses worth a total of 6 U.S. credits; the Service Learning
Option is a five-week, two course, program worth a
total of 7 U.S. credits; the Business Option is a five-week, two course, business
focused program worth a total of 7 U.S. credits.
