Title: Marketing and Communications Intern



Provisional Job Description and Responsibilities:

The goal of this 10-week paid internship position is to expose you to the marketing and outreach strategies of a study abroad provider. By the end of your internship, you should have a working knowledge of lead generation and conversion, web and print based marketing strategies, and market research experience.

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Institutional Relations, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

•    Managing social media and connectivity (Facebook, blogs, Flickr, YouTube, etc.) 
•    Creating and updating web content  
•    Organizing media resources, including printed material in the resource center and information on the web site in coordination with other interstudy staff  
•    Expanding the Alumni Network through data collection and student outreach  
•    Corresponding with prospective students  
•    Distributing print materials to US partner institutions  
•    Conducting special projects and market research

 

Required Skills/Traits:

Works well in an environment with frequent interruptions; flexible; ability to multitask; professional and confident telephone manner; respectful of confidential information; strong writing skills; organized; team-oriented; takes initiative and receives direction well; highly computer savvy; experience with database management (FileMaker Pro)

 

Preferred:

 

Study Abroad experience; may have specific interest in South Africa, Botswana, Britain, or Ireland; Social Media experience (Facebook, blogs, Flickr, YouTube); University office experience (i.e. work study); experience managing and updating websites (CMS); Adobe InDesign and Photoshop experience
