About the City

Port Elizabeth, otherwise known as the “friendly city” or simply PE, is South Africa’s fifth largest city. Life in PE generally revolves around the beach, where ocean sports rule: swimming, snorkeling, surfing, bodysurfing, windsurfing, jet skiing, fishing, boating, and scuba diving are all readily available. PE’s Humewood Beach has achieved international Blue Flag status and the city is a nature lover’s paradise, with beautiful parks, gardens, and a number of wildlife reserves in the area.
